Buddha Beans Cold Brew Recipe
Ingredients and Tools:
- You need 2 pitchers, coffee kettle, filtered water, coarsely ground Buddha Beans coffee, a cheesecloth and a spoon. We suggest using a 1:5 ratio of coffee:water. This will make a strong brew which you can water down if it is too strong.
Combine Coffee Grounds and Water:
- Pour the coarsely ground coffee into pitcher #1
- Heat up 1/4 of total water
- Slowly add boiling water over the coffee grounds, ensuring all the coffee grounds are evenly saturated.
- Let coffee sit for 1-2 minutes and then stir with spoon
- Add rest of room temperature water slowly to the grounds
Stir the Mixture:
- Use a spoon to stir the coffee and water mixture thoroughly. Make sure all the coffee grounds are well-mixed with the water and no clumps remain.
Steep and filter:
- Place the pitcher on counter and steep at room temperature. We suggest allowing the coffee to steep for 16-18 hours.
- If using cheesecloth, cut a piece large enough to cover the top of the second pitcher with some overhang. Place the cheesecloth over the pitcher’s opening and secure it with a rubber band or string, making sure it’s tight enough to prevent movement. Pour coffee over cheesecloth, collecting the grounds.
Serve:
- Your cold brew is now ready to be served. You can dilute the cold brew with water or milk if desired and add any sweeteners or flavorings to taste.
Store:
- Keep any leftover cold brew in the refrigerator for a week+. Some individuals enjoy it more after being stores for longer than a week
