About Peruvian coffee
Peru is the world's largest exporter of organic coffee, with most of the production coming from small farms in the Andean foothills. Cajamarca is one of the most respected regions, with high-elevation farms producing dense beans. Peruvian coffee was for decades treated as commodity, but specialty buyers in the past 15 years have elevated Cajamarca to standalone single-origin status.

How Cajamarca coffee is processed
The Buddha Beans Peru lot is traditional washed processing. Milk chocolate, almond, and brown sugar notes with a smooth body and soft acidity. Peruvian Cajamarca cups read as comforting and familiar without being commercial. Strong sweetness, low bitterness.
Why Peruvian coffee pairs with CBD
Cajamarca's smooth, sweet profile is the closest match to Colombian Salgar in our line. Easy to brew, easy to drink, predictable across batches. Slightly higher chocolate sweetness than Colombia, slightly lower acidity. The CBD infusion sits in the finish without disrupting the cup's softness.
The ZenFusion process
Every Buddha Beans CBD coffee, including this Peruvian lot, uses our pre-roast cannabinoid infusion process called ZenFusion. We bond broad-spectrum CBD oil to the green bean before roasting, rather than spraying it on after. This produces a consistent dose per cup and protects the cannabinoid from oxidation. The Peruvian cup retains its origin character with cannabinoid integrated cleanly into the finish.
How to brew it
The Peruvian lot brews well across methods:
- Pour-over (V60, Chemex): 1:16 ratio, 205°F, 3-minute brew. The cleanest way to taste the origin notes.
- French press: 1:15 ratio, 200°F, 4-minute steep. Heavier mouthfeel; slightly higher cannabinoid yield because the metal mesh leaves more oils in the cup.
- Drip machine: 2 tablespoons per 6oz cup. Paper filter keeps the cup clean.
- Cold brew: 1:8 ratio, 16-hour steep at room temp. Concentrated, smooth, lasts 7 days refrigerated.
For cannabinoid absorption, drink with a little dietary fat (whole milk, oat milk, cream, MCT oil). CBD is fat-soluble; published pharmacokinetic research shows a high-fat meal increases CBD peak blood concentration about 17 times versus fasted state.
