World First CBG Infused Coffee Beans

What is CBG?

To understand CBG you need to understand a couple basic terms first. Cannabinoids are substances that interact with cannabinoid receptors in the human body, particularly the CB1 and CB2 receptors. CB1 is associated with the nervous system and CB2 is more associated with inflammation. These receptors and cannabinoids are part of our body's systems for regulating homeostasis, this system is called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).

Cannabigerol (CBG) is commonly known as the "Mother of all Cannabinoids” and is the precursor in which all cannabinoids are synthesized. On top of being considered the stem cell of the cannabinoids, CBG also has many therapeutic and health benefits. According to recent studies, CBG has shown results of being a useful antibacterial agent, inhibit tumor cell growth, and can also provide inflammation relief.

The cannabinoids you commonly hear about such as THC and CBD are phytocannabinoids, meaning they are found in plants like cannabis. Our bodies also create their own cannabinoids called endocannabinoids. The two main endocannabinoids our bodies produce are Anadaminde and 2-Arachidonoyglycerol (2-AG). CBG can naturally boost the anandamide in our ECS. This endocannabinoid is also known as the “Bliss” molecule due to the “Runners High” feeling it induces. Research is being conducted on CBG evaluating its current effects as a potent neuroprotectant and its possible ability to combat ailments such as Huntington’s Disease. CBG has also been found to have cancer fighting properties and due to its antibacterial effects it has shown to even treat MRSA.

There have been studies conducted showing that CBG in animals stimulates the receptors involved in pain and heat sensation. It can also stimulate a2-adrenergic receptors in the brain and blood vessels, which regulate blood pressure. Meaning CBG could possibly have a role in blood pressure regulation as well.

CBD vs CBG

You're probably wondering why CBG when CBD (cannabidiol) seems to be the Holy Grail of cannabinoids? While CBD does have seemingly countless medicinal benefits the majority of studies have been focused on its use for severe seizures in children, anxiety disorder, inflammation relief, and anti-cancer properties. Research is finding that more of these non-psychoactive cannabinoids may have even more clinical uses. While a lot of the same effects are found with both cannabinoids there have been additional studies that show that CBG may be beneficial for inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Test tube studies have also shown that CBG has anti-bacterial properties that prevent colon cancer. On top of all this, it may even increase dopamine levels and support sleep and appetite regulation.

Why CBG Coffee?

Here at Buddha Beans® we recently launched the world's very first CBG infused coffee. Our intention is to take the current model of adding CBD to your daily ritual and introducing CBG and its many believed healing properties and to give you that extra boost energy in the morning. By adding CBG to your coffee you may experience a more focused feeling alongside the many healing and protective benefits.

CBG vs. CBD: Which belongs in your morning brew?

While both cannabinoids are non-intoxicating and originate from the hemp plant, they interact with your body in very different ways. For a coffee lover, the choice usually comes down to whether you want to unwind or level up.

Feature CBD (Cannabidiol) CBG (Cannabigerol)
Primary Vibe "Smooth Calm" & Relaxation "Active Focus" & Mental Clarity
Best Used For Reducing jitters, stress, and post-caffeine anxiety. Boosting concentration, alertness, and "flow state."
Receptor Interaction Indirectly modulates the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). Binds directly to CB1 and CB2 receptors for immediate effect.
Gut Health General systemic balance. Known for anti-inflammatory properties specifically in the gut.
The "Nickname" The Chill Cousin The Mother Cannabinoid (Precursor to CBD/THC)
Coffee Synergy Acts as a "buffer" to keep your heart rate steady. Acts as a nootropic to sharpen the caffeine "high."

Why CBG is the "Antidote" to Coffee’s Downside

Beyond just mental focus, CBG offers two specific advantages for coffee drinkers that CBD doesn't:

  1. The Gut-Brain Connection: Coffee is naturally acidic, which can cause "coffee stomach" for sensitive drinkers. CBG has been studied for its ability to target inflammation in the digestive tract, essentially acting as a soothing agent for your stomach while the caffeine wakes up your brain.

  2. No Drowsiness: While high doses of CBD can occasionally make people feel too relaxed (approaching sleepy), CBG is almost exclusively associated with alertness. It provides a "clean energy" feel that mimics the alertness of caffeine without the accompanying "fight or flight" response.
